Most people think shoes only lose their shape because of age. They imagine it is something that happens slowly after years of use, and that there is not much they can do about it. The third is gentler cleaning. Clean shoes when needed, but do it carefully. Use mild products. Avoid soaking. Avoid washing machines. Avoid harsh chemicals. Remember that cleaning is meant to preserve shoes, not punish them.
The fourth is choosing better shoes in the first place. Shoes that have balanced structure, not just extreme softness, tend to age much better. They may not feel dramatic in the store, but they usually stay comfortable and supportive for much longer.
It is also important to be realistic about lifespan. Shoes that are worn often will eventually lose their shape. That is normal. The goal is not to make them last forever. The goal is to make them stay supportive and stable for as long as possible.
